Ventitre01 continua la serie delle interviste dedicate ai nuovi autori in catalogo. Dopo le domande rivolte al pittore americano Stephen Von Mason pubblichiamo l'intervento della fotografa italiana Viki Ders, la cui sperimentazione converge, attualmente, sulle applicazioni - e commistioni - della sfumatura nell'ambito di un linguaggio sospeso tra tecnica fotografica e resa pittorica.
Come definirebbe il suo percorso artistico?
Molto istintivo e da autodidatta.
Come è possibile descrivere il panorama artistico attuale? La pluralità di forme e la commistione di linguaggi rappresentano un aspetto da valorizzare o un elemento disturbante nella definizione della propria identità artistica?
Credo che ogni forma d’espressione artistica porti in sé il germe della genialità e dell’unicità dei singoli individui che si esprimono attraverso l’arte, per cui ritengo tutto sempre considerevole di attenzione.
Il progetto, l’idea, vengono prima dell’opera o si sviluppano intorno ad essa?
Per quanto mi riguarda, non sempre ciò che faccio parte da un’idea, a volte è il mondo che mi circonda che mi fornisce uno spunto di partenza.
Qual è la sua visione del mercato dell’arte? Considera importante conoscerne le dinamiche?
Non conosco bene questo canale, motivo per il quale sto cercando di avvicinarmi, incuriosita.
Qual è il suo rapporto con il pubblico?
La fotografia mi porta ad avere molti contatti con le persone, e per il feedback che ricevo, posso ritenermi soddisfatta.
Come sviluppa il suo lavoro?
Sono sempre alla ricerca, mi sottopongo sempre a test ed esami personali, perché non sono mai soddisfatta di ciò che faccio.
Quali tecniche ritiene di maggior interesse?
In ambito fotografico, sono affascinata dal genere pittorico.
Quali artisti contemporanei apprezza e/o considera vicini alla propria ispirazione?
Pollock sicuramente è l'artista che recentemente ho riconsiderato di più da un punto di vista pittorico…fotograficamente, amo i colori di Fontana.
Tecnologia, tecniche tradizionali, creatività, progettualità, importanza del soggetto. Come ha definito la propria cifra stilistica?
Al momento sono in una fase di “tecniche tradizionali” associate alla “creatività”, che mi porta a cercare sempre nuovi temi da testare.
How do you define your artistic path?
I consider it very instinctive and self-taught.
How it is possible to describe contemporary art’s horizon nowadays? Multiplicity of forms and a melting of languages can be seen as a valuable aspect or a confusing element throughout the definition process of the author’s artistic identity?
I believe that every creative expression brings within itself the genius seed, the uniqueness of each single person that expresses herself or himself through the Art, so I always consider all that happens as something worth to be observed.
The project, the idea, come before the artwork or within it, as it is taking shape?
What I’m going to do is something that doesn’t necessarily begin with an idea, sometimes is the world that surrounds me to give me a glimpse to start working.
What is your perspective on the art market? Do you think it is important to know precisely how it works?
I don’t know well this particular field, so I’m trying to get close to it, curious to figure it out.
What is your relation with the potential public? How do you feel about the eye of the observer?
Photography takes me to have contacts with many people. I am satisfied by the feedback I receive.
How do you develop your work?
I am always searching for something, I endlessly put myself under tests and personal exams because I am never satisfied of what I’m working on.
What kind of techniques are you most interested in?
Talking about photography, I am fascinated by painting effects and the related genre.
Who are the contemporary artists you consider the closest to your inspiration? Who are the ones you appreciate most?
Pollock is the artist I surely more reconsidered in recent times by a painting’s point of view…photographically I love colors by Fontana.
New media, traditional techniques, creativity, designing, importance of the matter. How did you choose your stylistic matrix? How do you work on it?
For now I’m in a phase of “traditional techniques” combined with “creativity”, that always brings me to search for new subjects to test.
