Before replying to the questions we prepared to let the people know better the Artists we promote, we ask you to present briefly your work, the reasons that determine it, the recurring themes and subjects.

My work comes from the unconscious, from the images that grow in our mind for a long time and finally emerge as ideas. Unable to express them by words, I began to translate them in colors and shapes. I have always found interesting the ancestral images that come from the minds of a human being, like the first tribal marks, the masks, the symbols: everything that unites us expresses our closeness with Nature, with our instincts, our unconscious thoughts. We forget too often our connections with the natural world and that is why I draw our 'monsters', our hidden sides.

How it is possible to describe contemporary art’s horizon nowadays? Multiplicity of forms and a melting of languages can be seen as a valuable aspect or a confusing element throughout the definition process of the author’s artistic identity?

Our age is definitely characterized by a 'surplus' of past and present images, and a plenty of tools to create new ones. Even if it is difficult, most of the times, finding a fair comparison between the various techniques, as infinite as they are, on the other hand this situation guarantees to everyone the opportunity to express ourselves in a multitude of different shades. What really counts for me eventually is the way the artist uses for mixing skills and content to talk about himself or herself, to give value to the ideas.

The project, the idea, come before the artwork or within it, as it is taking shape?

In my art the idea and the artwork create each other. The size of the canvas or the sheet of paper often evokes images I couldn’t think before considering it. Other times the subjects I choose change from time to time, according to the moment.

What is your perspective on the art market? Do you think it is important to know precisely how it works?

I've never been very interested in the trading side of Art, but I think it is right to know all the aspects. If someone wants to live of Art there are many things to consider and to be prepared to.

What is your relation with the potential public? How do you feel about the eye of the observer?

The public is very important to me: I love listening to the questions that arise about my works, I am curious to know what my paintings can express when they are watched by someone else. People found very often similarities with artworks I didn’t know before. From these conversations I understand how different are our minds and thoughts, and every opinion, whether positive or negative, is always an enrichment for me.

What is your favorite artwork among the selected ones?

I find "Psychedelia" the most successful painting among the four selected artworks. I developed the project quickly and decisively, without any preamble: I let the images and the colors come spontaneously, avoiding the need for a composition plan.

What kind of techniques are you most interested in?

I love inks above all, because their use, if you desire it, never allows the total control on the result of your working, and the incision, that creates the preciousness of the hand printing. Besides, oil painting always comes first: the expressions that can be created are infinite, it is a technique that can turn in a moment the complete sweetness in the deepest disquiet.

Who are the contemporary artists you consider the closest to your inspiration? Who are the ones you appreciate most?

I admire contemporary underwater sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor and the works dedicated to the Aborigines by William Ricketts. These artworks become part of the Nature, creating surreal atmospheres. I appreciate very much Banksy, because he makes us think directly about the reality we live in. I also consider closer to my inspiration Leonor Fini, that I rediscovered recently, Alfred Kubin, the surrealist photographer Rodney Smith, and the surrealist painters in general.
